Poco M8 5G Debuts in India With 5,520mAh Battery and 50MP Camera

Poco has officially launched its latest smartphone, the Poco M8 5G, in India. The device will be available for purchase on Flipkart starting January 13 and comes in three stylish colour options: Carbon Black, Glacial Blue, and Frost Silver. The smartphone features a 6.77-inch 3D Curved Display with up to 3,200 nits peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, and Wet Touch 2.0 for smooth operation even with wet fingers. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 octa-core chipset built on a 4nm process, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.

The Poco M8 5G sports a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel Light Fusion 400 sensor, along with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera capable of 4K video recording. It also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The phone is rated IP65 + IP66 for dust and water resistance. The device is powered by a 5,520mAh battery, supporting 45W wired fast charging and 18W reverse wired charging. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and a USB Type-C port. The phone weighs 178g and measures 164×75.42×7.35mm.

Pricing in India starts at Rs. 18,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, Rs. 19,999 for 8GB + 128GB, and Rs. 21,999 for 8GB + 256GB. Customers can avail instant discounts of Rs. 2,000 via ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and SBI cards, and an additional Rs. 1,000 discount for purchases made within the first 12 hours. The Poco M8 5G runs on Xiaomi’s Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 and promises four years of OS updates and six years of security updates, making it a strong contender in the budget 5G smartphone market.
