Redmi is preparing to introduce a new addition to its K-series lineup in China, likely joining the already available K90 and K90 Pro Max models. Ahead of its official debut, the company has shared teaser images revealing key aspects of the upcoming Redmi K90 Max, including its design, build quality, and performance-focused features.
The newly revealed renders showcase a premium aluminium alloy frame paired with a bold and prominent rear camera module. The design stands out with a rectangular camera island that integrates an active cooling fan on one side, while the other side houses a dual-camera setup. The device has been displayed in a sleek Space Silver colour option, highlighting a futuristic and modern aesthetic.
From the side view, the smartphone appears slim despite the protruding camera module, which is similar in style to previous high-end models in the series. While the front design has not been fully revealed yet, Redmi has hinted at ultra-thin bezels, suggesting an immersive viewing experience.
One of the most notable features of the Redmi K90 Max is its advanced cooling system. The device is expected to include an upgraded air-cooling mechanism with a larger fan and improved airflow design. The company claims that the fan is about six percent bigger than conventional solutions and uses forward-angled blades along with an efficient air intake system. Even with active cooling, the noise level is reportedly kept as low as 32dB, ensuring minimal disturbance during heavy usage such as gaming.
The smartphone is also confirmed to feature a high refresh rate display of 165Hz, making it ideal for smooth scrolling and gaming performance. In terms of durability, the device is said to support IP66 IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering strong resistance against dust and water. Redmi has further stated that the cooling fan system is built to last up to six years, backed by extended durability and maintenance support.
Reports suggest that the Redmi K90 Max could be positioned as a performance-centric smartphone and may eventually launch in global markets, including India, under a different name, possibly as the Xiaomi 17T.
In addition to the smartphone, Redmi has also teased the upcoming Redmi K Pad 2 tablet. This device is expected to run on the Dimensity 9500 chipset and feature an 8.8-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate. Designed with portability in mind, the tablet will likely have a unibody metal build and a clean, minimal camera design. It is anticipated to be available in multiple colour options including gold black and electric purple.
