Ryan Reynolds’ Spokesperson Breaks Silence on Unsealed Messages and Blake Lively Lawsuit

Date:

Ryan Reynolds’ representative has publicly addressed the unsealing of private texts and emails involving the actor and his wife Blake Lively amid her ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. The spokesperson confirmed that Reynolds remains firmly supportive of Lively as she pursues legal action over alleged misconduct on the film’s set.

According to statements shared with international media, the Deadpool star’s involvement in the matter is rooted in personal support rather than legal strategy. The spokesperson explained that Reynolds stood by his wife as she attempted to raise concerns in a private and professional manner, only to face what the couple believes was retaliation. Reynolds, who married Lively in 2012, reportedly feels strongly about workplace safety and accountability, especially when it comes to protecting family and advocating for a harassment-free environment.

The unsealed court documents, which surfaced as part of the ongoing lawsuit, include personal exchanges between Reynolds and Lively as well as messages shared with close friends Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso Damon. In one message dated May 17, 2024, Reynolds described the production of It Ends With Us as chaotic both on and off set, hinting at deeper issues behind the scenes. He reportedly suggested that the making of the film itself could become a story worth telling, given the intensity of the situation surrounding the project.

Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment during the filming of the Colleen Hoover adaptation. She further alleges that after raising concerns, she was subjected to a coordinated smear campaign intended to damage her reputation and silence her claims. Baldoni has denied all allegations and has since filed a countersuit worth $400 million, accusing Lively of defamation. The case has attracted widespread attention across Hollywood and social media, highlighting broader discussions around power dynamics, accountability, and transparency in the entertainment industry.

As the legal proceedings move forward, with a trial scheduled for March 2026, Reynolds’ representative emphasized that the actor has no regrets about standing by his wife. The spokesperson added that Reynolds believes advocacy for a safe and respectful workplace should never be controversial and that speaking out against harassment is a responsibility shared by everyone in the industry.
