Sophie Turner is looking back at her Game of Thrones days with a mix of gratitude and her signature cheeky humor. The actor, who played Sansa Stark through all eight seasons of the iconic fantasy series, recently opened up about how the show shaped her life in unexpected ways — including her sex education!
Appearing on the July 9 episode of the Dish podcast hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, Sophie Turner shared how working on Game of Thrones for nearly a decade impacted her career, mindset, and personal growth. “It was amazing. We were like a family and the character I got to live with for 10 years felt like she became part of me. It taught me so much about the business, on-set etiquette, how to behave, how to make decisions. Everything I learnt from Game of Thrones — and a bit from my parents,” she said.
When Nick jokingly pointed out the contrast between the warmth off-screen and the dark and twisted scenes on-screen, Sophie laughed and revealed that those intense storylines doubled as unconventional lessons. “Actually, it was really great! I definitely got my sex education from that show. More than enough,” she quipped.
Since her days as Sansa Stark, Sophie Turner has built a strong acting career and will next be seen in the upcoming psychological survival thriller Trust. In the film, she stars as a Hollywood actor who escapes to a remote cabin after a scandal but ends up battling for her life. Trust is expected to hit theatres this August.
For fans wanting to revisit Westeros, all eight seasons of Game of Thrones are still streaming on popular OTT platforms, ensuring the show’s legacy — and its unique lessons — live on.
