Taylor Frankie Paul will not face any new criminal charges following multiple domestic violence investigations conducted by authorities in Utah. The decision was confirmed by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office after reviewing evidence from separate cases handled by the Draper Police Department and the West Jordan Police Department.
According to officials, prosecutors chose not to proceed with charges after a detailed review by multiple attorneys due to the high-profile nature of the case. Reports indicate that some of the alleged incidents fall outside the legal timeframe for prosecution, while others lacked sufficient evidence to meet the standard required for criminal charges.
The investigations were linked to alleged incidents involving Paul and her former partner Dakota Mortensen. Filming for the reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was paused earlier this year after a reported domestic dispute between the two.
Authorities noted that certain allegations date back over three years, exceeding the statute of limitations. For more recent claims, prosecutors stated there was not enough clear or corroborated evidence to prove the accusations beyond a reasonable doubt, which is required in criminal cases.
The situation also impacted Paul’s involvement in The Bachelorette, as her planned season was pulled shortly before its expected premiere. This decision followed the emergence of investigation details and public scrutiny surrounding the case.
Legal proceedings between Paul and Mortensen are ongoing in civil court. Both parties have filed protective orders against each other, with Paul alleging a pattern of controlling and abusive behavior. Court documents describe a series of alleged incidents, including one in February where she claimed she was taken away from her home without consent and later assaulted. Supporting materials reportedly included images and message records.
Meanwhile, production decisions remain uncertain. Networks including ABC and Hulu have yet to confirm whether the postponed season of The Bachelorette will move forward in the future.
Despite the legal outcome regarding criminal charges, the case continues to draw attention due to its impact on television production and the personal dispute between those involved.
