Top Family-Friendly Benefits and Lifestyle Perks Dubai Residents Can Enjoy in 2026

Date:

Dubai residents have even more reasons to spend quality time with loved ones this year as the UAE officially celebrates 2026 as the Year of the Family. Across the country, several new initiatives and benefits have been introduced to improve family life, support caregivers, and encourage affordable leisure experiences for residents of all ages.

One of the biggest highlights is expanded access to Fazaa discount benefits. Previously limited to government and semi-government employees, the popular savings programme is now temporarily available to all families with at least one child until the end of 2026. Families can use the membership to enjoy discounts at attractions, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, and retail outlets across Dubai. Registration is completed online using Emirates ID-linked details, with memberships typically activated within a few working days.

Public transport has also become more family-friendly through a new initiative launched by the Roads and Transport Authority in partnership with the Ministry of Family. The programme introduces reduced transport fares for students and senior Emiratis while also offering exemptions on parking fees for elderly residents. Special nol cards dedicated to the Year of the Family have also been introduced.

Additional transport support has been extended to people of determination, who now benefit from exemptions on Salik toll charges, parking fees, vehicle registration costs, and public transport fares. Reduced taxi fares and discounted driving licensing services are also included as part of the initiative. To improve convenience and comfort, dedicated cabins for women and children have been expanded across the Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram networks.

Another major step forward is the introduction of flexible remote work options for caregivers employed in federal government sectors. Parents whose jobs support remote work can now work flexibly during periods of distance learning for younger children and nursery students. This initiative aims to make balancing work and childcare responsibilities easier for families across the UAE.

For residents who enjoy outdoor adventures, Dubai Municipality has introduced the region’s first dedicated recreational vehicle route. This new project creates a connected network for caravans and RV travelers, offering access to nature-focused destinations across desert, mountain, and beachfront locations. The initiative encourages families to experience road trips and outdoor activities together while promoting local tourism and shared experiences.

These new benefits and lifestyle improvements highlight Dubai’s growing focus on family wellbeing, community support, and accessible experiences throughout 2026.
