UAE Unveils Advanced AI Strategy to Accelerate Government Services by 2031

Date:

The United Arab Emirates is set to transform its government operations by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its strategic plans targeting the year 2031. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced that AI will be a key focus in the upcoming federal government planning cycle. This initiative aims to simplify governmental processes, optimize resource allocation, and improve financial efficiency to deliver faster and smarter services to citizens.

The 2031 strategic framework rests on four core pillars: society, economy, diplomacy, and ecosystem, guiding the UAE’s future development. Under Sheikh Mohammed’s leadership, multiple ministries and 38 federal entities have been tasked with crafting innovative AI-powered strategies that align with the “We the UAE 2031” vision. The government’s planning cycle has been condensed from five years to three years, reflecting the urgency to adapt swiftly to global technological advances and maintain agility in governance.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the shift from traditional, procedure-heavy governance to a modern approach emphasizing regulatory flexibility, streamlined workflows, and intelligent management of resources. The new AI-focused strategy is expected to enhance the government’s responsiveness, making services more efficient and effective for all residents. The commitment to serve the people of the UAE remains a constant priority as the nation embraces cutting-edge technology to secure a prosperous future.
