Veteran Actor Beau Starr of Halloween and Goodfellas Fame Passes Away at 81

Veteran film and television actor Beau Starr, widely recognized for his roles in the Halloween franchise and Goodfellas, has passed away at the age of 81. According to family sources, the actor died on April 24 in Vancouver due to natural causes.

Before establishing himself in Hollywood, Starr had an athletic beginning, playing professional football for teams such as the New York Jets, Montreal Alouettes, and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. His transition into acting began in the late 1970s, leading to a long and diverse career across stage, television, and film.

Starr’s early acting journey included theater work and appearances on television, gradually building a reputation through roles in popular series like Three’s Company and The A-Team. He also featured in films such as Fletch and worked alongside major stars including Steve Martin in The Lonely Guy.

One of his most memorable roles came in 1988 when he portrayed Sheriff Ben Meeker in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, a role he reprised in its sequel, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. His performance made him a familiar face among horror fans.

In 1990, Starr appeared in the iconic gangster film Goodfellas, directed by Martin Scorsese. He played the father of Henry Hill, the character portrayed by Ray Liotta, adding to his list of notable screen appearances.

Following news of his passing, tributes began to pour in, including a heartfelt message from Christopher Serrone, who shared memories of Starr and described him as someone who lived a full and meaningful life. He highlighted Starr’s roles not only as an actor but also as a devoted family man.

Throughout his career, Starr built an extensive portfolio, appearing in television shows such as NYPD Blue and Psych, along with films like Speed. His consistent presence across decades made him a respected figure in the entertainment industry.

Beau Starr leaves behind a legacy defined by versatility, dedication, and a career that spanned multiple generations of film and television audiences.
