The match lasted just over an hour, showcasing Sinner’s dominance and composure.
Alexander Bublik, seeded 23rd, struggled to find rhythm as Sinner dictated the game from start to finish. After the defeat, Bublik reacted with a surprising yet respectful comment on Instagram, describing Sinner as “AI,” in recognition of the Italian’s precision, consistency, and machine-like focus.

Following the win, Sinner expressed satisfaction with his performance:
“Overall I’m very, very happy. It was my first night match this year at the US Open and it really felt special. The support from the crowd makes all the difference,” Sinner told fans during his post-match interview.
With this victory, Sinner advanced to the quarter-finals, where he will face fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who defeated Jaume Munar 6-3, 6-0, 6-1 earlier the same day.

Sinner highlighted that Bublik’s exhausting five-set match in the previous round gave him an edge:
“He didn’t serve as strong as usual, so I managed to break him early in each set, which boosted my confidence on serve. We’ve played before at Wimbledon and Roland Garros this year, so we know each other’s game quite well.”
