Motorola is gearing up to introduce its first book-style foldable smartphone in India, with the Motorola Razr Fold officially teased for a May launch. After making its global debut earlier this year, the device is now set to enter the Indian market, signaling the brand’s expansion in the premium foldable segment.
The smartphone was initially showcased at Mobile World Congress 2026 and later launched in the United States. Now, a dedicated microsite has gone live in India, confirming its upcoming arrival and hinting at availability through Flipkart. While the exact launch date remains under wraps, the timeline suggests an official unveiling within May.
In terms of design, the Indian variant is expected to mirror its global counterpart, including at least one black color option. The device adopts a book-style folding mechanism, distinguishing it from traditional clamshell foldables and placing it in direct competition with other premium foldable smartphones.
Under the hood, the Motorola Razr Fold is powered by a high-performance Snapdragon 8 series chipset, delivering flagship-level speed and efficiency. It is paired with advanced graphics processing, AI capabilities, and up to 16GB of RAM alongside 512GB of internal storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and high-end performance.
The foldable features a large 8.1-inch 2K LTPO pOLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and impressive brightness levels, offering an immersive viewing experience. On the outside, users get a 6.6-inch cover display with up to 165Hz refresh rate, protected by durable glass technology and designed for quick interactions without unfolding the device.
For photography, the smartphone is expected to include a triple rear camera setup, highlighted by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Battery performance is another key highlight, with a massive 6,000mAh unit supporting both fast wired and wireless charging, ensuring extended usage throughout the day.
Additionally, the device is built to withstand everyday conditions with an IP rating for dust and water resistance, making it more durable than many foldables currently available in the market.
