Former India captain Kris Srikkanth has sparked major debate in the cricketing world after strongly backing teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for an early call-up to the national side. Impressed by the youngster’s fearless batting style, Srikkanth believes the time has come for selectors to accelerate his entry into international cricket.
Speaking about the rising star, Srikkanth urged current chief selector Ajit Agarkar to include Sooryavanshi in India’s squad at the earliest opportunity. He suggested that even if the young batter is not immediately placed in the playing eleven, exposure to the international environment would significantly aid his development.
